1) Gene Autry was the Founding Owner of The Angels Major League Team (started in 1961) and owned the team for over thirty years. This is a very long time for one to own a Major League Franchise.
 
2) Gene Autry always put the "Love of the Game" and families first. That was more important to him than money.
 
3) HALL OF FAME PLAYERS SIGNED BY ANGELS DURING GENE AUTRY'S OWNERSHIP:
 
  • Rod Carew
  • Reggie Jackson
  • Frank Robinson
  • Nolan Ryan
  • Don Sutton
 
4) YEARS ANGELS MADE IT TO POST SEASON UNDER AUTRY'S OWNERSHIP:
 
  • 1979
  • 1982
  • 1986

5) The Orange County Register acknowledged Gene Autry as on of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Orange County History in the Fall of 2005. Gene Autry is the one who brought professional sports to Anaheim and Orange County.
