OFF SEASON AND PRE SEASON: Grady Little resigned, and The Dodgers signed Joe Torre as the new Manager
of The Dodgers, and Don Mattingly as one of the coaches, The Dodgers also signed Andrew Jones. March 28 to 30: In lieu
of a traditional Pre Season Freeway Series with The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, The Dodgers, celebrating 50 years in Los
Angeles, had a series with the 2007 World Series hampions--The Boston Red Sox. The Dodgers won the series 2 games to 1.
HAPPY OPENING DAY! (Mar. 31): Brad Penny shut down the San Francisco Giants 5 - 0.
In celebration of The Dodgers being in Los Angeles for 50 years, The Dodgers had a parade of former Dodger
Greats parading onto the field before the game, including Sandy Koufax, Duke Snyder, Tommy Lasorda, Maury Wills, Steve Garvey,
and others.

Blake DeWitt hit his first two Major League Homeruns during this series. The second homer was an
"Inside the park" homer.

.Juan Pierre hit a two run double which helped The Dodgers to snap a 5 game losing streak in Game
2, as The Dodgers beat The Brewers 6 to 4. Andrew Jones and Jeff Kent homered in Game 3 to help The Dodgers crush Milwaukee
7 to 2. Chad Billingsly pithed a three-hitter in Game 3.

The first game of the series, The Dodgers beat The Angels 6-0. The Dodgers onslaught began with
a homerun by Dodger's Catcher, Russell Martin. The second game of the seies wmay go down in history. Jared Weaver pitched
a no-hitter against The Dodgers, but The Dodgers ended up shutting out The Angels a second straight time, 1-0. This event
may leave a bad taste in many Angels Fans' mouths for some time.

The Dodgers won games 2-4. During the second game which was the first game of this series won by
The Dodgers, the game was tied 6-6 going into extra innings. Jeff Kent belted a homer which won the game 7-6. Russell
Martin hit a homer in th 1st Inning of that game to put The Dodgers on the scoreboard. The Dodgers also went on to win games
3 and 4. In the series finale, Andre Ethier and James Loney each hit homeruns to prevent a split with The Astros.

James Loney batted in 2 runs in the 5th whcih won the third game of the series with The Giants,
and clinched the 3 game series with The Dodgers long time arch rivals.

During game 3, Derek Lowe pitched a lights out game holding The Braves to 1 run. Matt Kemp hit a
homer, and Andruw Jones, who has been struggling this season, batted in the winning run for game 3 which clinched the three
game series with the Atlanta Braves. This series win put The Dodgers in a tie for first place with The Diamonbacks in the
National League West.

Arizona Diamondbacks.

Durng the Top of the 9th in Game 3, The Dodgers were down 4 to 1 to The Diamond Backs. The Blue
Crew rallied and came back with 5 runs making the score 6 to 4, Dodgers. The biggest contributer to that 5 run inning was
a Triple by Andre Ethier. The Diamondbacks scored a run during their last at bat, but it was not enough. The Dodgers won 6
to 5, given them the series victory over The Diamondbacks, and putting them in a First Place Tie in the National League West.

Chad Billingsley pitched his first career shut-out during game 3, and he pitched
the whole game, as The Dodgers Bullpen took the night off. Chad's shut-out was the fourth shut-out The Dodgers achieved in

This series was the Debut Series for Future Hall of Famer, Manny Ramirez who was traded over to
The Dodgers from Boston. During the series he hit two homeruns, surpassing Mel Ott's all time Homerun Rcord of 511 HR's,
and tying Ernie Banks' and Eddie Matthews' All Time Records of 512 HR's.

road trip and their worst slump during the 2008 Season. During this road trip, The Blue Crew was swept by The Phillies and
The Nationals, before coming to Phoenix. The Dodgers beat Arizona in Game 3 by a score of 8 to 1, keeping The Dodger's Play-off
Hopes alive.
